Pack Your Bags For Upcoming Childbirth

Time and tide wait for none. We all are familiar with it right! Well, guess what neither does baby. In case you are pregnant, always be prepared to face a baby emergency. Having timely baby scans can help you estimate a precise due date, but still, it is advised to prepare your hospital bag in well advance.

So, make the list and prepare your bags if you or your partner is in your 3rd trimester.

1. Hospital File
Carry your ultrasound baby scan report along with other medical reports in your hospital file. Also, carry papers for mediclaim or insurance etc, in case it covers high-risk pregnancy procedures etc. It is also helpful to jot down some important information such as contact details of some friend or family that can show up for help.

2. Cash/Card
Money is the most crucial factor. Carry enough money with you, even if you don't have any indication of any complications. Unexpected complication might need an emergency c-section. Moreover, the baby might need special attention at the time of birth. Carry some cash and also take a card in case you need to spend extra money on it.

3. Dressing Gown And Slippers
Childbirth takes time, so get comfortable. Carry a dressing gown (or few in case the stay gets extended) and slippers in your bag. Regular clothes and shoes are both uncomfortable and risky for both the mother and the baby.

4. Body Lotions
Childbirth brings muscle pain and tenderness. So, get some massage oil and lotions. Having a lip balm helps too as childbirth causes dehydration and clip chafing is common too. Moist lips are little comfort in this scenario. You should also take some sponge and water spray to feel refreshed in between busy hours.

5. Comfy Pillows
Extra support is a need while extra pressure is in your abdomen. So, don't forget to pack an extra comfy pillow to sit and lie down a little more easily while struggling to give birth. Though the hospitals provide pillows as well, there is no such thing as an ‘extra’ pillow for a heavily pregnant mother.

6. Distracting Packages
A funny thing about childbirth is- you need a distraction to stay focused. So carry some magazines, music, and playlists to your childbirth visit to the hospitals. You can also carry earphones so you don't disturb the women in waiting for the miracle to happen.

So, jot down the list and start packing now.
